Polestar, in partnership with Plugsurfing, is launching a new public charging network that will give drivers access to more than 650,000 charge points across Europe.
The network – Polestar Charge – will combine the Tesla Supercharger network, Ionity, Recharge, Total, Fastned and Allego, giving Polestar drivers access to one of the biggest charging networks in Europe.
An optional subscription service will also be part of the package, giving a discounted rate of 30% on more than 28,000 charging points for Polestar Charge users.
The service will be available via the Polestar Charge app.
This is combined with EV optimisation within Google Maps, which helps to plan optimal charging stops along a route and activates a battery pre-conditioning function to help achieve the fastest possible charging speeds.
Polestar announced last year that it will adopt Tesla’s NACS charging standard for drivers in North America while customers in China can access the Tesla Supercharger network in more than 200 cities.
The new Polestar Charge service is being introduced ahead of the first European customer deliveries of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 electric SUVs.
Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO, said, “We know an important part of owning an electric car is being able to charge conveniently.
“With access to the largest networks in Europe and smart integration in Google Maps, we have made it easy for Polestar drivers to enjoy life with an electric car rather than worrying about where they will find their next charge.”
The Polestar Charge subscription service is available to Polestar drivers in the UK.
