Centrica has struck a deal with Ford to install electric vehicle charging infrastructure to its customers and dealerships. The energy supplier hopes Ford’s customers will also take up its dedicated EV tariffs.
The move is part of Centrica’s shift to become an energy services business. The firm launched a Mobility Ventures unit earlier this year.
“Our partnership with Centrica will enable us to offer a one-stop shop for our customers as they transition to an electrified vehicle, including exciting new vehicle options, wall box, installation service and electricity tariff,” said Ford MD, Andy Barratt.
Ford is yet to launch electric vehicles in the UK, but globally plans to have 16 all electric models by 2022.
