Isuzu Motors has the unveiled its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the D-Max BEV pick-up.
Developed to meet a wide range of commercial and passenger vehicle needs, it has a one-tonne payload, 3.5-tonne towing capacity, and a full-time 4WD system with newly developed e-Axles in the front and rear, suited to rough terrain while minimising noise and vibration.
There is also a lithium-ion battery capacity of 66.9kWh and a maximum output of 130kW.
Also, the vehicle’s maximum speed of more than 81mph makes it suitable for a variety of applications, from urban commuting to off-road adventures.
Isuzu plans to launch the D-Max BEV in select mainland European markets in 2025, with further expansion to the UK, Australia, Thailand, and other countries based on market demand and the development of EV charging infrastructure.
The prototype of this vehicle will be showcased to the public at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show from the 27 March to the 7 April.
