Surrey-based AFC Energy last year launched its H-Power Generators, designed to offer zero emissions electricity to run drills, lifts and tools on building sites.
Later this year it intends them to be available for temporary hire to tradespeople, througha 50:50 joint venture with Speedy
Once established, the entity will make buy around £ 2 million worth of AFC’s H-Power generators. Under today’s agreement the parties commit thereafter to make more available for renting out, meeting what they expect to be growing demand for zero emission power across Britain’s construction and temporary power market.
AFC Energy’s chief executive Adam Bond said: “The pressure to deliver zero emission power on construction sites here in the UK and overseas has seen strong growth in demand for AFC Energy’s H-Power Generators.
“Our collaboration with Speedy builds on the successful H-Power Tower launch last year and subsequent field-based deployments, many of whom are customers of Speedy, making our proposed collaboration all the more relevant”, the AFC boss observed.
With nearly 180 depots, Speedy says it is Britain’s biggest provider of tools and equipment hire services to customers in the construction, infrastructure, industrial, and support services markets, as well as to local trade, and retail. Besides hiring out kit, it provides training, asset management and compliance services
