Allego has opened an ultra-rapid EV charge point installation at the Pennells Garden Centre near Lincoln, enabling ten vehicles to be charged simultaneously.

The five 300kW charge points, each with dual socket connectors, are located at the site just off the A46, close to Whisby Nature Park.

Allego now has more than 160 UK charging sites, including about 120 charge points in London, and its network is set to expand rapidly over the next five years and beyond.

Working with both private landowners and local authorities, the company is looking to invest an estimated £100 million in ultra-rapid EV charging infrastructure across the UK and Ireland.

Allego is a Zapmap Live data partner, meaning that users of the Zapmap app and web map can view every charge point on the Allego charging network and see the live status and availability.

Paz Sharma, Managing Director Allego UK said, “The launch of the Pennells Garden Centre hub is a testament to Allego’s mission to revolutionise and accelerate EV charging infrastructure across the UK.

“Here in the heart of Lincolnshire, this collaboration propels us forward in our vision to expedite green transportation, offering customers and the public access to a state-of-the-art charging hub.”

Richard Pennell, Chairman of Pennells Garden Centre said, “We have a history of serving local residents and visitors to the region alike through our garden centre, offering retail and refreshments onsite.  It is of paramount importance for us in providing convenience and access to EV Charging for our regular customers and all EV drivers in general.”
