LEVC has unveiled its new L380 large multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), a move which will see the taxi manufacturer enter an entirely new sector.
The L380 is the first model that will be underpinned by Geely Holding Group’s Space Oriented Architecture (SOA) EV platform, offering advances in range, efficiency, safety, charging time, durability, and connectivity.
It is designed with six or eight-seat layout options.
Initially launched in China in 2024, L380 will become available in additional markets too, with more details – including technical specifications – to follow next year.
LEVC’s history began in 1908 when the first dedicated black cab was specially designed and commissioned for use in London.
The company manufactures its purpose-built, range-extended electric TX taxi at a factory in Ansty, Coventry.
Since 2014, Geely has invested more than £500m into LEVC, allowing it to build an entirely new eco-friendly manufacturing facility, the UK’s first dedicated to the production of electric vehicles.
